Our story

TURN

Death is something we all experience, but few of us are prepared for it. TURN was born from our own experiences with loss—moments that left us searching for something better, something more meaningful.

Each of us as founders has faced the grief of losing people we loved. We have sat in cold, impersonal funeral homes, faced difficult decisions, and wondered why the farewell process felt outdated, disconnected, and—most of all—wasteful. There had to be a better way.

For Liva, it was personal. After losing someone close to her, she wanted to honor their memory in a way that wasn’t about marble, metal, or ashes stored away on a shelf. She wanted something alive, something that gave back. But every option felt the same—traditional burials, expensive coffins, cremation urns that felt impersonal and final. Nothing reflected the kind of farewell she wanted: one that felt natural, sustainable, and meaningful.

That’s when the idea for TURN took shape.

TURN wasn’t just about an urn—it was about redefining the way we think about farewells. It was about transforming loss into life, endings into new beginnings. Together, as a team of four founders—three women and one man—we built TURN to be more than a product. It’s a movement toward a more intentional, personal, and sustainable farewell experience.

We believe death should not be something we fear, avoid, or leave unspoken. It should be a conversation we have with clarity, with care, and with a sense of peace. With TURN, we offer not just a product, but a choice—a choice to leave a legacy that matters, a choice to return to nature, and a choice to make the farewell process something truly meaningful.

This is why we started TURN. And this is why we invite you to be part of something different—something better.
